2017-2018 Enrichment Sessions
Enrichment offers preschool children an opportunity to extend the school day through fun and developmentally appropriate theme-based experiences. Children who attend enrichment class directly following their regular preschool class experience a longer school day in preparation for kindergarten. Children can also take advantage of enrichment classes on their non-preschool day(s) and add another day of learning to their week!

WSCA’s theme based standard enrichment program offers children an opportunity to explore new ideas, learn more about our world, as well as practice newly acquired skills through a fun yet developmentally appropriate curriculum. Activities include reading theme related stories, art, cooking and lots of fun hands-on exploration. Our flexible schedule allows children the opportunity to receive additional one-on-one academic support from the teacher in a relaxed atmosphere.
Themes will be presented in the following order (duration of each theme will vary):

Powered by STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) will help your preschooler develop curiosity, creativity, exploration, collaboration as well as critical thinking and reasoning skills. Each class will offer the children hands on engaging activities that support their overall academic growth.
Young Illustrators Hours: 9:00-11:30am (no lunch) Days available: Wednesday
This fun class will help encourage a love of reading and creativity. Each week we will read and talk about books by a new author/illustrator. We will develop language skills by talking about the characters, settings and events of the story. Afterwards, we will use our creativity to illustrate a unique piece of art work related to our book.
Ready to Read& Write Hours: 11:30am-2:00pm Days available: Wednesday

Our Ready to Read & Write program will provide the opportunity to learn and practice basic sight words through phonics games and activities. Children will practice letter recognition and formation using the “Handwriting without Tears” curriculum, beginning and ending sounds of words, and exploring concepts such as rhyme and blending sounds to read words. Each child will have the opportunity to illustrate and write their own books. Story time will never be the same again!
Young Artists Hours: 9:00-11:30am (no lunch) Days available: Friday
Children will love exploring their creative side in this hands-on art class. “Young Artists” will support your child’s learning, fostering fine motor and cognitive skills, self expression and confidence through fun and engaging art activities.
Let’s Move Hours: 11:30-2:00pm Days available: Friday
We will have your child moving and learning. “Let’s Move” will promote children’s health by encouraging and supporting physical activity and good nutrition practices. Being active has shown to increase concentration and focus, improve classroom behavior and boost academic performance. Get ready! Get set! “Let’s Move!”
2017-2018 lunch fees will be $3.10 per day
